This treatment approach focuses on 3 specific principles of exercise:
- Amplitude or BIG movements
- Intensive and high effort
- Calibration or a relearning by the patient of what are actually “normal” movements.
Specifically, this treatment approach produces:
- Faster walking with bigger steps
- Improved balance
- Increased trunk rotation
LSVT BIG trains the patient with Parkinson’s Disease to use bigger movement anywhere and with all daily tasks. This empowers individuals with the potential they have to keep moving and stay active.
