Cell Phone Elbow, also known as Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, is the effects of the today and extensive use of a cellular phone. Similar to carpal tunnel, the symptoms are caused by nerve compression. The nerve that goes from your upper to lower arms and around the elbow, the ulnar nerve, becomes compressed when it is bent for long period of time, such as when holding a cell phone. Prolonged use of a cell phone may irritate this nerve and can then cause aching, burning, tingling, and/or numbness.
Because of the times, Cubital Tunnel Syndrome is very common. It is the second most common form of nerve compression behind carpal tunnel. If treatment begins shortly after symptoms occur, cell phone elbow can be relatively easily to reverse. Inflammation can occur if ignored.
